Rates & Insurance
Clear answers, before you commit.
The practical details of starting therapy shouldn't be a mystery. Here's how rates, insurance, and scheduling work at our practice.
Session formats
We offer both in-person and secure telehealth sessions. As a practice licensed in New York and New Jersey, we can work with clients located in either state.
Rates
Session rates vary by clinician and service. Rather than list numbers that may change, we share exact, current rates on your free consultation call — along with a Good Faith Estimate if you ask for one.
Common questions
Do you accept insurance?+
We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance companies directly. Many plans include out-of-network mental health benefits: if yours does, we can provide a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement always depend on your specific plan — we're happy to talk through what questions to ask your insurer.
What are your rates?+
Rates vary by clinician and session type. We'll share current rates on your free consultation call, so you have exact figures for the clinician and format you're considering — no surprises later.
What happens in the free consultation?+
It's a brief phone call — usually around 15 minutes. You'll tell us a little about what you're looking for, we'll answer questions about how we work, and together we'll decide whether to schedule a first session. There's no obligation and no pressure.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?+
Sessions are typically 45–55 minutes. Most clients meet weekly, especially at the start; some later shift to every other week. We'll find a rhythm that supports your goals.
Do you offer telehealth?+
Yes. We offer both in-person and secure telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in New York or New Jersey, where we are licensed.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?+
Under the No Surprises Act, anyone paying without insurance has the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before starting care. We're glad to provide one — just ask, and we'll walk you through it.
What if I need to cancel a session?+
Life happens, and we get it. We simply ask for as much notice as possible — at least 24 hours when you can — so we can offer the time to someone else. Details of our cancellation policy are shared before your first session.
